Illegal Immigration

Monday, August 9th, 2010

It’s not that I am appoved to immigration it’s just that to stem the tide of illegal immigration in this country something has to be done. I have no issues with the Arizona law and wonder why the federal government does when the law is based on federal law and racial profiling is prohibited.

Catch and release is a good policy when fishing. However, it is not when our police repeatedly arrest illegals again and again.

Harry Reid Negro Comment

Monday, January 11th, 2010

I’m going to stay above the fray when it comes to these types of situations. However, I do believe there is a double standard when it comes to race in America. Had this been a Republican the main stream media would have been up in arms. No need for Reid to resign he is doing more harm than good by staying.

* Democrats accused of ‘double standard’ on race

* Obama has accepted Reid’s apology for racial remarks

By Will Dunham

WASHINGTON, Jan 10 (Reuters) - The Republican Party chief called on Senator Harry Reid on Sunday to step down as Senate majority leader over racial comments about President Barack Obama, while Democrats tried to put the issue behind them.

Reid, a key figure in pushing Obama’s agenda through Congress, apologized to the president on Saturday over remarks published in a new book calling Obama a “light-skinned” black man “with no Negro dialect unless he wanted to have one.”

Both Obama and Reid are Democrats.

Republican National Committee Chairman Michael Steele said Reid should step aside as Senate majority leader, saying if a Republican made the same remarks Democrats would be “screaming for his head.”

“Oh yeah, there’s a big double standard here,” Steele, who is black, said on the NBC program “Meet the Press.”

Obama Approval at All Time Low

Monday, January 11th, 2010

President Obama’s approval rating on handling health care is at an all-time low, according to a new CBS News poll, something that is helping to drag down his overall approval rating.

Just 36 percent of Americans approve of Mr. Obama’s handling of health care, according to the poll, conducted from Jan. 6 – 10. Fifty-four percent disapprove. In December of last year, 42 percent of Americans approved of the president’s handling of health care, and 47 percent approved in October.

Yet things could be worse: With Democrats in Congress continuing to negotiate the terms of their comprehensive health care package, both Congressional Republicans and Democrats receive even lower marks than the president on the issue, the poll shows.

About six in 10 Americans continue to disapprove of how both Democrats and Republicans in Congress are handling health care reform: 57 percent disapprove of how Democrats are handling the issue, while 61 percent disapprove of how Republicans are handling it.

Report: Firms Run by Clinton Pollster Received $5.97M in Stimulus Money

Wednesday, December 9th, 2009

$5.97 million dollars to preserve three jobs. Disgraceful!

Almost $6 million in federal stimulus funds was given to two firms run by Hillary Clinton’s former presidential campaign strategist, The Hill newspaper reported Wednesday.

Mark Penn, who worked as Clinton’s pollster during her 2008 presidential run, reportedly received $5.97 million from the $787 billion stimulus package so he could preserve three jobs at his public relations firm, Burson-Marsteller.

The firm has gained attention for securing a contract to work on a campaign advertising the nation’s switch from analog to digital television. The Hill reported that $2.8 million of that contract was given to Penn’s polling firm, Penn, Schoen & Berland Associates.

Republicans have blasted the use of federal stimulus dollars, claiming the money has gone to many projects that have little or nothing to do with job creation.

George Washington Proclaimation

Wednesday, November 25th, 2009

Holy shit! He mentions God!

Whereas it is the duty of all nations to acknowledge the providence of Almighty God, to obey His will, to be grateful for His benefits, and humbly to implore His protection and favor; and Whereas both Houses of Congress have, by their joint committee, requested me to “recommend to the people of the United States a day of public thanksgiving and prayer, to be observed by acknowledging with grateful hearts the many and signal favors of Almighty God, especially by affording them an opportunity peaceably to establish a form of government for their safety and happiness:”

Now, therefore, I do recommend and assign Thursday, the 26th day of November next, to be devoted by the people of these States to the service of that great and glorious Being who is the beneficent author of all the good that was, that is, or that will be; that we may then all unite in rendering unto Him our sincere and humble thanks for His kind care and protection of the people of this country previous to their becoming a nation; for the signal and manifold mercies and the favorable interpositions of His providence in the course and conclusion of the late war; for the great degree of tranquility, union, and plenty which we have since enjoyed; for the peaceable and rational manner in which we have been enable to establish constitutions of government for our safety and happiness, and particularly the national one now lately instituted for the civil and religious liberty with which we are blessed, and the means we have of acquiring and diffusing useful knowledge; and, in general, for all the great and various favors which He has been pleased to confer upon us.

Obama Punts Question on Use of Bombs

Thursday, November 19th, 2009

Our president is an IDIOT! First off, I would politely provide a quick history lesson and remind the reporter that we were ATTACKED December 7, 1941 at Pearl Harbor by the Japanese which precipitated U.S. entry into the war. More than 2,300 military personnel were killed that day. And no, both bombs were not necessary if the Japanese leaders would have surrendered after the first bombing but that was not the case.

How about answering the reporters question with a question? How about asking was Pearl Harbor necessary? If so, did you expect us to sit back and let you take it to us or did you expect us respond? Obama is an idiot!

Defending the decision of the United States to drop nuclear weapons on Hiroshima and Nagasaki during WWII is not a comfortable thing to do when you’re in Japan. But if you’re President of the United States, you must do it. Diplomatically, yes. With sympathy for the civilian victims, yes. But you must do it.

But when it came time today for Barack Obama to fulfill that fundamental duty, he failed. The very first reporter [from Fuji TV] called on at the joint press conference with PBO and Japanese PM Hatoyama in Tokyo today put the question to Pres. Obama in blunt and explicit terms:

JAPANESE REPORTER: What is your understanding of the historical meaning of the A-bombing in Hiroshima and Nagasaki? Do you think it was the right decision?

Obama took a deep breath, paused . . . and punted.

PBO gave a halting response that utterly failed to answer the question. The closest he came was to observe that Japan “has a unique perspective on the issue of nuclear weapons as a consequence of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, and I’m sure it helps to motivate the Prime Minister’s deep interest in this issue.”

The reporter tried again: “do you believe the US dropping of nuclear weapons on –”

Obama cut him off, choosing to answer an unrelated question on the situation in North Korea.

States of Personal Privilege

Wednesday, November 11th, 2009

How do you get a bad bill passed? You fill it with pork and concessions to garner votes. Forget about what is good for all Americans. It’s all about votes and pushing your party agenda. Screw everyone else. Unfortunately, we will all suffer. Even the idiots who vote to pass this reform.

How good is Sen. Max Baucus’s health reform bill? So good that Democrats have made sure some of the most costly provisions don’t apply to their own states.

The Senate Finance Committee is gearing up for a final vote next week, and Chairman Baucus now appears to have the Democratic votes to pass his bill. Getting this far has of course meant cutting deals, and those deals, it turns out, are illuminating. The senators are all for imposing “reform” on the nation, so long as it doesn’t disadvantage their constituents.

Stimulus Working My Ass

Tuesday, November 10th, 2009

This is exactly what happens when you sign bills and have no idea what is in them. This writer is being easy on Obama. God help us with health care reform. What else is in that monster?

Opinion: Stimulus Plan Stimulates Trouble for Obama

When President Obama promised in February that the $787 billion stimulus bill would unleash “a new wave of innovation, activity and construction,” he probably didn’t have tidying up gravestones in mind. But that is what some of the money has bought, along frozen fish sperm, Taser guns and an ongoing political headache that Obama easily could have avoided.

As reporters start to pour over the details of the stimulus spending reports the White House released a little more than a week ago, they’re turning up lots of gems like this. In addition to the above, reporters at ProPublica found stimulus money spent on tickets for a musical version of “Little House on the Prairie,” a cotton candy machine, and breakfast at Fuddruckers.

Then there’s the dispute over how many jobs have actually been “created or saved,” as the administration likes to put it. Obama says 640,329 so far. But all last week, reporters were turning up some serious cases of job inflation. Examples:
